Entrepreneurship Deep Dive with TransferWise Co-Founder, Taavet Hinrikus
We are extremely excited/honored to announce that Estonian tech entrepreneur, advisor & angel investor, Taavet Hinrikus, co-founder of TransferWise will hold a talk and Q&A with students, current & future entrepreneurs and investors at FER on December 12 at 16:00. The Q&A will be moderated by two of the Co-Founders of robotics & AI technology company, Gideon Brothers – Matija Kopić & Milan Račić.
Taavet Hinrikus is the Co-Founder and Chairman of FinTech “startup unicorn”, TransferWise, an international money transfer platform worth $1.6 billion that was named one of 10 most innovative financial companies globally in 2018 (FastCompany), and are a World Economic Forum “Technology Pioneer.”
Prior to Co-Founding TransferWise, Taavet was employee #1 at Skype. He is the Digital Adviser to the Prime Minister of Estonia and an active tech adviser and investor.
Matija Kopić is a two-time tech entrepreneur. He is a Seedcamp winner (2011) and a member of the 500 Startups (class of 2011), with his former company, Farmeron (sold in 2016).
Milan Račić comes from an aerospace manufacturing background in Canada (Bombardier), the United States and Germany (Fairchild Dornier) and has negotiated over $2 billion in sales, corporate finance, and structured finance transactions.
Gideon Brothers were recently named „Best International Mobility & Logistics Startup” at Start.up! Germany (October 2018), European “AI Rising Star” at the London Founders Forum (2018), „Business Leader in Robotics as an Entrepreneurial Field” by Digital Takeover (2018) and is a member of the invitation-only Paris Hardware Club (2018)
